We are delighted to have the very well known and highly respected Judith Barbaro-Brown join us
After qualifying from Durham School of Podiatric Medicine in 1989, Judith worked in the NHS for ten years before returning to Durham School of Podiatric Medicine as a Lecturer, during which time she set up a National CPD delivery project which was the largest in the UK
In 2007 she moved to lecture on Phase One Medicine at Durham University, being directly involved in the education of under-graduate medical students. During this time she also worked with the Department of Health on the project to introduce independent prescribing for Podiatrists and Physiotherapists in 2013
In 2015 Judith led the Interdisciplinary Health CPD team at York St John University, and in 2019 set up the new medical school at Sunderland University. Since 2021 she has been Assistant Principal at Grey College, Durham University and leads wellbeing and student support in the college. During her career she has delivered health-related education internationally, co-authored a number of text books, and she is regularly invited to speak at conferences and seminars around the UK
The diverse and interesting subjects Judith will be coving are:
~ Cancer and the lower limb
~ Implications of Menopause
~ Impact of Alcohol Abuse on the lower limb
~ The Microbiome (really interesting area as new research indicates it’s role in vascular, neuro, gut and immune system health)
